2022 KAIST INNOPOLIS CAMPUS PROJECT (Period:06.20,2022~ 02.29, 2024, Total Project Cost: 700M KRW)

Project Introduction
  • Prototype Production Cost Rapid support (2022.06.20.-2024.02.29. Prospective start-up teachers who are approved for start-up to enterprises and start-ups during the project period and can obtain a business registration card during the project period)
  • Support throughout all stages of entrepreneurship, including discovery of promising business ideas for prospective entrepreneurs, startup education support, idea validation, prototype production, and investment attraction, aiming for successful technological entrepreneurship and early establishment of businesses

  • Prototype production support for KAIST faculty startups (KRW 2 million per case, up to 24 projects)
  • Startup education by KAIST ILP Faculty Group
  • Startup advisory activities of VC CEOs (linked with DCM)
  • Organization of joint events between KAIST student entrepreneurs and VCs
Project VISION
  • Practical support for entrepreneurship in prototype creation and testing certification fees
  • Contributing to national technological independence through fostering startups in materials, components, and equipment
  • Producing unicorn companies in Daedeok area by discovering startup teams for the KAIST Innopolis Campus Project

Startup technology and prototype characteristics
  • We aim to verify the efficacy of ‘PROX1 neutralizing antibody”’as a therapeutic agent to induce retinal nerve cell regeneration in the mammalian retina and secure the optimal neutralizing antibody for retinal regeneration that can actually be used for treatment in humans. It is known that mammals do not regenerate degenerated nerve cells unlike lower animals (reptiles, fish, and birds).

Startup technology and prototype characteristics
  • It is a core technology that can replace the existing A/R coating method that can be applied to various displays in vehicles that are currently expanding and becoming larger.
  • This is a technology that enables permanent anti-glare treatment using an abrasive (Al2O3) instead of anti-glare treatment, which was previously done using hydrofluoric acid or wet coating
  • The verification of the technology and sample production were successful, and samples with anti-glare treatment on large center fascia glass for vehicles must be provided to customers for accurate technical and business feasibility evaluations, so there is a great need to produce this prototype.
